One Silly Boy

     

   His name is was Jerry. He always had a way with his dancing, it was unique, fun and entertaining. He would dance before he went to bed, he would dance to get out of bed, he would even dance in the shower. His favorite dance was what he called the "Shake your Booty". But nobody really thought he could dance. So it was really hard for his friends to tell him that, when he signed up for school talent show.
   One sunny Monday morning as Jerry danced his self out of bed and into the shower, he couldn't wait for the big tryout, he had signed up for the talent show on Friday and couldn't wait to tell his friends about it. When Jerry got to school he rushed to his locker and said "Hey, Mortakai and Rigbi, guess what? What" they asked," I entered the school talent show and I'm going to dance for the tryouts", Jerry answered." What!" they yelled, "Yep that's right I'm going to preform the Shake your Booty in front of everyone in the stadium." 
Mortakai and Rigbi didn't want to hurt his feelings so they said that, that was awesome and that he was going to kill it out there.
    6th period everyone in the school went to the tryouts including Mortakai and Rigbi. When Jerry's turn came up he danced to the song "Shake, shake,shake senora, shake your body line" which was everyones most liked song but, this is how Jerry danced. ----->
      Anybody who was anybody was laughing so hard, they all thought it was funny in a good way. Mortakai and Rigbi were wrong and even admit it. He was really killing it up there. Now everybody knew his name and everybody liked him. His friends weren't jealous they were happy for him and they were happy that this whole popular thing didn't get to his head, he was still the same old Jerry.     
     When the big show came he was going up right before Jefferson and guess what Jefferson did, he did the Shake your Booty it front of the entire school and parents or visitors, but everyone boo ed him since he did it really badly . Jerry was so angry what was he going to do then he walked on the stage and started doing the Shake your Booty in circles, everyone cracked up even more. So with that Jerry won the talent show and got blasts of confetti in his hair from Mortakai and Rigbi. This was the best day of his life. 

Students shouldn’t have homework because it causes kids to become bored, it also takes so long that kids don’t have time for themselves  and also it can get you frustrated if you work on it for too long.Common homework assignments may include a quality or period of reading to be performed writing or typing to be completed, problems to be solved, a school project to be built, such as a diorama or display, or other skills to be practiced says the wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.  
Since when did homework become closer to you than your parents?
            Homework is like your best friend you have to treat it with respect. I don’t think there is a person in the world who at least didn't want to do homework once. It’s boring and it kills trees. I always here adults cheering help the environment, well if they want to help the environment don’t give us paper homework.
             It would be better for us to do our homework on the computer. Also it’s not fair if a teacher gives you so much homework for one subject and the rest of your teachers give you a regular size. If they do that there is no time for us, kids, to have time to our selves and sometimes you’re up all night just doing homework and I don’t think that’s fair.
              But I know why teachers give us homework, and they have a good reason for doing it too. They want to make sure we understood what was going on in class because when the state test comes up they’re not allowed to help you. They  also give it for extra help or practice in case you don’t fully understand.  Ask your teachers why they give you homework they might have a different reason, then post the reason as a comment.
                Too much homework can get you frustrated if you work on it for too long. You first get confused so much that you get angry. If you have had nothing to eat or snack on you can get frustrated. Frustration can also be caused by you working yourself to hard. Frustration can also be caused by not understanding the question you are working on. It can also make you mad or upset to the whole day.
                  Over the last decade and half, children as young as nine to eleven have seen a nearly forty percent increase in homework, a trend that is likely to continue according to www. alternet.org.  Unfortunately, this remedy may be doing our children more harm than good. If  you over work yourself you can become bored of homework.
                   Homework takes so long that you don’t have 

time for yourself. Based on real life experiences I know that when I’m doing my work I spend most of my day figuring out problems, writing, or playing my instrument. It’s not right for teachers to give us extra homework when they know we get homework in other classes, which just mean extra work. Now I know people like to go on the computer to their favorite sites  but students aren't going to get the chance to do that type of stuff with so much  homework . Based on my information you can probably tell that homework can make you become bored.

Abe Lincoln

 Abraham Lincoln
Abraham Lincoln is who made the U.S what it is today. He was our sixteenth president of the United States.In addition he was also inspirational. My topic is about what Abraham Lincoln did to change this country. Abraham Lincoln is a leader, believes in what he says and is very kind.  
Abraham Lincoln is a great influence, because he was a leader. He preserved the union during the civil war. He is also a leader because one time he went to the store to buy something then he noticed that the cashier paid him an extra cent, and with that he walked miles just so he could pay her back. Lastly Abe Lincoln is a leader because he has never lied in his life. Abe Lincoln is a leader believes in what he says and is very kind.
   Abraham Lincoln also believes in what he says. He said these three quotes. “I have no purpose, directly or indirectly, to interfere with the institution of slavery where it exists. I believe I have no lawful right to do so, and I have no inclination to do so.A house divided against it cannot stand. I believe this government cannot endure permanently half-slave and half-free. I do not expect the Union to be dissolved - I do not expect the house to fall - but I do expect it will cease to be divided. It will become all one thing or all the other.I want every man to have the chance - and I believe a black man is entitled to it - in which he can better his condition, when he may look forward and hope to be a hired labourer this year and the next, work for himself afterward, and finally to hire men to work for him. That is the true system.”

   Lastly Abraham Lincoln is very kind. He gave the slaves freedom. He treated people the way he wanted to be treated which was for people to be nice to him and with respect. And he always said please and thank  you whenever he received something or asked for something. 
 Abraham Lincoln is a great leader, believes in what he says and is very kind. One day I hope everyone can follow Abe's leadership, he's way of believing in what he says and most especially I hope everyone could be kind like Lincoln, not judging people for the color of their skin, their religion, or anything. If the world followed in his footsteps nobody would every criticize negatively again.

Swimming Lessons

                                   Swimming
  Swimming is such a wonderful sport. But to learn to swim you have to get comfortable with kicking your legs in the water. To kick your legs in the water get a boogie board, put your hands on it and put only your stomach on the water. Next start kicking the water, you will notice the water splashing behind you. Next put hands straight out in front of you, put your hands together with palms facing outwards, and then bring your arms back half way and continue that strategy. Next try it in the water and there you go.
  In my opinion it’s the most fun sport if you can do it correctly. How would you describe the feeling of being in the water? I would describe it fun, exciting and wonderfully fantastic. If anyone asked me where I wanted to go it would be swimming. How about you, would you do the same thing?
  It builds up your muscles in the most funnest of ways. Kicking helps your leg muscles. Using your arms to swim helps your biceps. And plus you don’t feel the workout, but that doesn't mean it’s not there. So I advise everyone to stop watching T.V or playing video games and get out and swim.

                         When People Treat You Meanly
Since when did being mean become popular?
 When I was smaller everyone was treated the same way, nice. If they didn't treat you nice it was because they didn’t like you or perhaps they were mad at you.They may have been in a bad mood. Now today there’s all kinds of mean people that do mean things, some people do it just to be popular or noticed, even to get attention or just to be plain mean.
 A few days ago in the gym, three people were treating me meanly. Every time I wanted to speak it was like I was automatically being annoying. So those two people moved in front of the person in front of them, and I wasn't even being annoying,I absolutely HATE that! Then when the front person moved to my side he said to me don’t talk, and I bet he did that because the girls thought I was annoying so now so did he.
 Talking doesn't automatically make me annoying or gossip that says I am annoying. Those people don’t know half of me and neither do you if you also think that I’m annoying. This has happened to me before in Elementary school. Everyone thought I was a slow eater I denied, because I wasn’t, it was just all that waiting in line to get your food made me feel rushed to eat so I simply just took my time. Now I’m one of the first people done at my table. So those people who are mean know who they are and need to stop before someone I know very well will have to get involved and you don’t want that.
 I blame themselves because, it’s them who can control what they do, nobody else if you want to do something go ahead and do it, but know that there might be really bad consequences. So next time think twice about before calling someone a name or else other people will get involved and that is another thing that you wouldn't want.

Christmas eve

       Oh My Gosh! Christmas eve for me was such a blast this year. I went to my Nana's house and meet my cousins there too along with my aunts and uncles. My cousins names were Lydiene, Cheyene, Mellisa, Samantha and my two brothers Kyle and Kalen. My aunts were auntie Senge, Cheryl, Iya and my Nana of course and also my grandmom. My uncles were uncle Moses, Kevin and Atabe.

We first did our once a year usual plays or talents (etc...) I went first and I played my clarinet. I played Here Comes Santa Claus, Jingle Bells and a French Christmas carol called Patapan. Next came Lydiene and Cheyene with a school        girl song they found on Youtube and a remix of common Christmas songs. And then came all of us with Walking In A Winter Wonderland, Frosty the Snowman, We Wish You A Merry Christmas, and Jingle Bells.We ate some food, I ate Macaroni and cheese, Shrimp, Rice and Stew and later on that night I had a traditional meal called Foofoo ( FOO-FOO) and Kwankalan ( KWANK- A- LAWN.) But before that we opened presents, you know like yesterdays history, tomorrows a mystery and today's a gift, that's why they call it the present, (HAHAHA : D.) Well anyway I opened two, the first one was from auntie Cheyrl, uncle Kevin, Mellisa and Samantha. It was a bunch of clothes (FYI to all you parents not something a child wants for Christmas) but I was grateful because, many kids don't have the things that we have, so think twice before you say I don't want this because they're clothes, and I've done this many times. Anyway the other presents was from Nana and uncle Moses. It was a pink and Purple cash register that I could put my money in : p !!!!!! And I can't tell you the other things because then we'll go to Christmas and well... that's just a whole other story.

    

Freak the Mighty

      I read a book called Freak the Mighty. The book is about a boy named Max who is really tall, not very smart, lives with his grandpa and grandma, and also has a dad who they called Killer Kane who was in jail for murder. Max has a hard time making friends untill Freak (AKA, Kevin) moves into the neighborhood. Freak and Max go all these dangerous adventures. Freak plans on getting this robotic body thing, meaning he's getting this operation that requires him getting his body parts replaced with robot ones. But will something go terribly wrong, will Freak be eternally hurt for life? To find out read the book Freak the Mighty.

       In my opinion I think the book was be adventrous throughout. People like Tony D. and Killer Kane are people they had to face. Freak is cripled and very short, and has the mind of a  gunius and uses it to help Max in school and to escape Tony D.. Tony D. is a boy who has been in Juvi three times because he carries around with him proboly wanting to stab them. This is such an excellent book because, it is filled with adventure and excitment I advice you to to read this book.
